Privacy Policy for APRS++

Effective date: July 17, 2026

This policy explains how the APRS++ Android application (com.bunzee.aprsplusplus), provided by Bunzee Labs, handles information when you use it to view APRS activity or choose to publish information to the APRS network.

Information APRS++ Handles

APRS++ processes the information needed to provide the features you use. This may include:

Settings and configuration are stored locally on your device. Bunzee Labs does not use APRS++ to collect advertising identifiers, contact lists, payment information, or data for advertising. APRS++ does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Optional Location Publication

Uploading your position is optional. APRS++ requests location permission only for a feature that needs it. If you grant permission and explicitly enable position reporting, the app may transmit your real-time location together with APRS information such as your callsign, speed, altitude, direction, status, or comment to aprs.fi and the wider APRS network.

APRS is public: Information transmitted to APRS may be visible to aprs.fi users, website visitors, other APRS services, and amateur-radio operators. Do not publish a position, message, or packet containing information you do not want to make public.

You can stop future location transmission at any time by turning off position reporting in APRS++ or revoking the app's location permission in Android settings.

How Information Is Used and Shared

APRS++ uses the information described above only to provide the feature you selected—for example, looking up APRS activity, displaying stations, exchanging APRS messages, or publishing your position. When required for that feature, the information is transmitted to aprs.fi or to APRS network services.

Bunzee Labs does not sell your information and does not share it for advertising. APRS information you choose to transmit is shared as part of the service and may be copied, archived, or republished by independent APRS services and applications. Deleting it from one service does not necessarily delete copies held elsewhere.

Storage and Retention

Your Choices and Deletion Requests

You control whether APRS++ can access and publish your location. You may disable position reporting, revoke Android permissions, clear locally stored app data, or uninstall APRS++.

Data already published to aprs.fi is controlled by aprs.fi. For its deletion controls, retention details, and other data requests, see the aprs.fi privacy policy. Because APRS is a distributed public network, copies stored by other services may remain after information is removed from aprs.fi.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by APRS++. No internet or radio transmission is completely secure, and APRS packets are intended for public distribution. Do not use APRS to transmit confidential or sensitive personal information.

Children's Privacy

APRS++ is intended for licensed amateur-radio operators and is not directed to children under 13. Bunzee Labs does not knowingly use the app to collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when APRS++ features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
